Sample Mounting

The proper mounting of samples is a critical step in the lapping and polishing process. It is imperative that the sample is firmly mounted parallel to the sample mount surface to ensure accurate results. Typically, samples are mounted using a low melting point wax as an adhesive and a Sample Mounting Fixture to apply uniform pressure. Sample Mounting Fixtures are designed to both monitor the temperature of the wax and to provide a uniform mounting pressure.

Model 110 Single Wafer Mounting Fixture (Max. 2" diameter) The Model 110 is designed to mount samples up to 2" in diameter and is supplied with 6 pressure plates ranging in size from 1/2" to 2" diameter . The unit is also supplied with a set of tongs to lift the fixture when hot. The Model 110 is the most basic model and is ideal for routine sample mounting.	Model 110	562.00	Qty.

Model 115 Dual Position Sample Mount (2 samples/Max. 2" diameter) Dual Position Sample Mount - The Model 115 is designed to accommodate 2 samples up to 2" in diameter simultaneously and incorporates a thermometer to measure the temperature of the mounting wax. Wax temperature is monitored so it is not overheated which would create air pockets beneath the sample. Hot Plate - The Model 120 is a specially designed hot plate that operates in a temperature range from 100° to 700°F (38° to 371°C). The Model 120 is UL listed and provides 49 square inches of heating surface in a low profile design. Cooling Tray - The Model 125 is intended to be used with the Model 120 or 125 Hot Plate and is designed so that a Sample Mount can slide directly from the hot plate onto the Cooling Tray without being lifted.
